  1. Data Transfer / Data Logging
    When you visit our website, our server automatically registers log files which can’t be allocated to a specific person. These data include for example the browser type and version, used OS, referrer URL (of the previously visited site), the computer`s IP address, date and time of access and the file request of the client (file name and URL). The registration of accesses is undertaken for data security reasons, in order to ensure our system’s stability and operational reliability and to protect it from external attacks. The data is exclusively used for internal purposes and will not be passed on to third parties, neither for commercial or non-commercial purposes.

  2. Use of Personal Data
    Personal data are information regarding your identity, such as your name, email address or postal address. Personal data are only collected and processed if you explicitly agree to do so and voluntarily provide us with this information, for example by subscribing to our newsletter, applying for membership or signing in for our password protected database. Unless prohibited by necessary reasons involving business transactions, you can retract your previously granted agreement in written form (including e-mail and fax) at any time. Furthermore, every newsletter comes with the opportunity to reject receiving further information and send out an according cancellation. Your information won’t be passed on to third parties unless necessary due to legal provisions.
    We use the personal information you have given us solely in accordance with the agreed purposes and the GDPR’s provisions. We guarantee you to treat your personal data as confidential and not make them accessible to a third party. This newsletter is distributed via the distribution service “MailChimp”, a newsletter distribution platform of the American provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a MailChimp is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement, thus guaranteeing adherence to the European level of data protection.

The distribution service can use the recipient’s data in anonymized form, i.e. without being linked to a specific user, in order to optimize and improve their own services, for example for the technical optimization of the distribution, the newsletter’s presentation or for statistical reasons. However, the distribution service provider won’t use this information for contacting the users or pass them on to third parties.
The newsletter includes a so-called “web-beacon”, a pixel sized file which is accessed by the distribution service provider’s server. During this access, technical data about your browser and OS as well as your IP address and time of access are being retrieved. This information is used for the technical improvement of the service according to technical data or target groups and their reading habits according to their location (which is determined by their IP address) or the times of access. The statistical analysis includes whether the newsletter was opened, when it was opened and which links were clicked on. Even though this information can be linked to specific recipients of the newsletter, it is neither in our interest nor in that of the distribution service provider to monitor individual users. The possible evaluations only serve to help us understand the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content accordingly or send out different kinds of content according to the interests of our users.

Cookies
"Cookies" are small files that are stored on the user's computer. Different data can be stored within the cookies.
